What plastic granules are

Plastic granules are small, uniform pellets of polymer that a moulder feeds straight into an injection moulding or extrusion machine. In India the trade usually calls them plastic dana. Markandey Polymers manufactures polypropylene plastic granules: PP granules and PPCP (polypropylene copolymer) granules, at our own unit in DSIIDC Narela, Delhi.

The plastic granules we manufacture

Natural, milky, colour, black, grey, metallic and regrind ranges of PP and PPCP granules, plus custom shades developed to your reference:

• Natural PP granules — uncoloured, the base for most moulding work.
• Milky PP granules — off-white, where a lighter finish is needed.
• CP Colour and CP PW Colour — PPCP colour granules for parts that need better impact strength.
• Black and Grey PP granules — for parts where shade is not critical.
• Metallic PP granules — copper, silver and golden effects.
• Super granules and Colour 2nd — graded by shade consistency.
• Regrind granules — the most cost-sensitive grade, for functional parts and blending.

A plastic granules manufacturer, not a trader

Many plastic granules suppliers resell material that someone else has made. We make our own: used polypropylene is sorted by grade and colour, washed, shredded, then melted and extruded into uniform granules at our plant, and dispatched from our warehouse in Bawana Industrial Area. Every batch is tested before it leaves

Each batch is tested in our in-house laboratory for melt flow index, density, moisture, contamination, elongation and Izod impact strength, and nothing is dispatched until it has passed all six. See how we test.

Which plastic granules do you manufacture?

We manufacture polypropylene granules only: PP granules and PPCP (polypropylene copolymer) granules, in natural, milky, colour, black, grey, metallic and regrind grades. We do not make HDPE, LDPE, ABS or PVC granules.

Are plastic granules and plastic dana the same thing?

Yes. Dana is the everyday Indian trade word for plastic granules. PP dana is polypropylene and CP dana is polypropylene copolymer.

Are your plastic granules recycled or virgin?

All our granules are recycled: used polypropylene that is sorted, washed and extruded back into uniform granules, and tested on every batch.

Can you match a specific shade?

Yes. Send a shade reference or a physical sample and we develop the grade to it. Custom shades are a regular part of what we make.
